Lord, Lord
“Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things I say?
Luke 6:46 HCSB
Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for God’s wrath is coming on the disobedient because of these things.
Ephesians 5:6 HCSB
I find this is something that is easy to slip the mind. The Lord is clearly asking why do we call Him Lord but don't do what He says. It is true that the wrath of God is coming on the disobedient because of these things. The more I read the Bible the more I come away with the need to be obedient and that it is very important! Do we truly believe God's wrath is coming on the disobedient?
Which of the commands given by the Lord do you think He is ok with us disobeying?
'“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord! ’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father in heaven. Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So you’ll recognize them by their fruit. On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name? ’ Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!’ '
Matthew 7:19-23
